First day of school

Benjamin has been counting down the days getting ready for school to start and this morning sure enough he was up at 530 asking if it was time to go! He was so excited this morning and Emma did really well getting ready too. I hope the rest of our mornings go so smoothly.
Benjamin and Charlotte went through their gate all by themselves and went straight to their class rooms. I was so proud of Benjamin he was a little quiet, but I was reassured by another teacher when he was at lunch he was doing great! He was totally back to his normal, sweet, loving school self! His teacher is Mrs. Cayer and she is great. We already love her!
Noah and I walked Emma to school. I was a little worried about the desperation anxiety for this one. She did so good though! I am friends with her teacher and her family so I knew she would be perfect to help Emma. She told Mrs. Rodriguez she could write her name and sat and waited perfectly. She got a little nervous when she saw all the parents coming in and told me there was too many people in the classroom. When I told her all of them would leave and it would just be her teacher left she was perfectly happy again. Noah went and sat next down to her and waved bye to me. I said he needed to come with me and he pointed to Emma and said no Emma me, waved bye again and sat so quietly next to her watching their abc video. He wasn't very happy when we had to leave, but Emma blew us a kiss.
She was so excited to see us when we got her. Penny and her told us how amazing recess was and that they got to play together! Seeing their excitement was the sweetest thing! We loved seeing grandma right there in the office so we knew my kids were safe!
When I picked up Benjamin he was so excited to say that he got THREE recesses. I love how happy they got at those simple things. They both had such a great day and I'm so glad they have their teachers. I know this will be a fantastic year!

Last of our summer fun!

We sure have enjoyed our summer time! We have been busy too.
We have had lots of swim days at grandma and grandpas. The kids just love going over there and we even bring baymax, that dog is a natural swimmer! Benjamin loves jumping off dad and grandpa! Emma loves swimming and getting ice cream and Popsicles from grandma because grandma never says no! Hahaha

We spent a day up at my charleston while Kylee came to visit. It was so fun and relaxing. I just love watching the temperature gage get lower as we go up just 20 minutes away from vegas. We played games and did scavenger hunts. We also made tin foil dinners and had yummy snacks! We all LOVE the mountains so much!
We went to Emylee's dad's house and went swimming for our sweet cash's birthday! He turned two and is absolutely adorable. Cash and Noah are besties and the two crack us up! They both are such good and sweet boys. They also are so quiet and sneaky getting in trouble!
We also celebrated Liam's 3 birthday the next day. Lots of birthdays for us. We partied at Jeff and Kaylas house. We had yummy food and all the kids were so good playing and running around.

We ended our summer having a great time at the YMCA for Emylees work swim party. This is the third year in a row we have gone and they are so fun. Taliah and Charlotte came with the kids and I. Taliah just got braces a few days before so she was an official patient and didn't want to  miss the fun! Of course she looks adorable in braces. She is getting too old and cute! The kids love all the water parks. Emma and Benjamin both passed the swim test and got to go on the big diving board and Benjamin loved the slides!

Clyde and Patsy Cox family reunion

We went to Idaho for the Cox family reunion. My great grandparents on my dad's mom side were Cox's. A while ago while I was doing family history I realized that Jakes mom's dad's side are from the same cox family. It was crazy to find that out.
This reunion was for Clyde and patsy Cox. My great grandpa passes away when I was 8 and my great grandma when I was 19. They were such amazing people and have four wonderful daughters, one of which is my grandma. Growing up my dad and all the cousins would go on trips together so those cousins wanted to get together again and make more memories for them and for the next generations.
We had such a great time seeing people that we very rarely get to see. We had yummy meals together and great conversations. My dad was able to get my great grandpas camera. The four daughters all pitched in to get it for one of their anniversaries and it was one of the first automatic cameras!
We had a whole day dedicated to family history. We travelled around the Buhl, Idaho area. We started off at the cemetery and saw Clyde and Patsy's grave sites, and also Clyde's parents Horatio and Ophelia's sites. Grandma Patsy's parents and more of our family members are also buried there.
Next we went to different home sites where my grandma and sister grew up and even where Grandpa Clyde went to school. That evening we went back to my grandmas for dinner and a family program. These programs are so much fun. These sisters are so talented. They sang and played the piano for us and told fun stories. My dad and his cousins all played the game, "This is a what? A fork. A what? A fork. Oh a fork......." That is such a fun game and gets so loud and crazy! I wish I could post all the videos on here but I can't figure it out. :( after the program we watched old home videos and slides of my great grandparents and my the four girls and my dad and his cousins all through their lives. I am so grateful for all of the memories that were able to be shared and remembered that night.
During the weekend we had a lot of fun games that were played. On night we played "whack the cracker" hahaha oh my was that so much fun. Everyone gets a thin piece of string tied around their waist with a cracker ties and hanging like a tail. Then everyone gets a rolled up newspaper and the point of the game is to break everyone else's crackers, but to not get yours broken. The last person with cracker left wins. The kids all had so much fun playing multiple times. The big game with all the adults and the kids was a complete riot! Those big boys all got really into it. My uncle Rob one with just the tiniest bit of cracker left that no one could get. We had such an amazing time with family while there. Idaho sure feels like home especially up at Papa Buzz's farm. It is beautiful there and so open, there are giant windmills all over the place now. The sunsets, stars, love, and memories were unforgettble. Thank you to everyone that made this happen.
I am so grateful our whole family was able to go and spend time with both sets of my grandparents. I love all our relationships and that my kids get to have those relationships also. I am so blessed to have the amazing grandparents that I do! We love you all!
