We didn't see fireworks this year to celebrate instead we enjoyed mother nature! WoW! God's country sure does take your breath away. We went up to Cedar city to Grandma Deedee's brother, Uncle Bruce's Cabin. We love the outdoors. The kids had so much fun on the four wheelers and playing in the dirt. Benjamin shot a bb gun and watched as his uncles and cousin shot the bow and arrow. We went on a couple hikes and lots of rides in the razors and four wheelers. Bruce's cabin has a gorgeous view that overlooks a canyon that leads to Zion's National park. We hiked from the cabin down to where the canyon is and there is sea shells everywhere! It is so awesome to see all the amazing things that nature can do. The rocks are so smooth in areas where it used to be sand and there is still sand up there, as in pure soft beach sand. There are fish fossils in the rocks along with sea shell fossils. It is amazing to be able to be standing at the top of a canyon and find things as if on a beach.
Kyler was an expert at catching lizards and even caught a snake! I could not believe that my Benjamin and Emma held and touched them! So gross ha ha ha, I passed on that one. We played card games and sat and talked. It rained the last couple days off and on. I love summer thunderstorms so that was so relaxing for me. There is a swing set, slide and teeter totter there and the kids had so much fun playing and just exploring. Noah did pretty well for being off schedule and not at home. He was getting some teeth so he wasn't totally himself, but still happy. He loved going on rides and fell asleep on Jake both times he went out on a ride. The bumpy ride must have just rocked him right to sleep. I love that sweet baby! A few of us have been working out and got our little work outs in so the s'mores I had the last night weren't a complete shame :) Grandma started a fire for all of the kids and Fadi and I went out with her. The kids loved it and of course I got my perfect brown marshmallow! The moon was only a quarter moon and really little, but Fadi and I still had fun playing with the camera and taking pictures.
We love nature and enjoy our time with family it was such a great way to celebrate the freedom that we have living in this country. Going back to our roots in nature, enjoying each other and making the most of the time we have. I hope everyone else had as good of a holiday as we did!
