Yesterday was a beautiful day for our family and for Emma. She chose to get baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The kids all woke up T 4 am. I’m what?!? Yes, that’s how excited they were for Emma’s big day. She has been waiting a month to be able to wear her new dress. Emma and I worked together and she helped me pick exactly what she wanted and I made it for her. She got jewelry that she wore and her new high heels. Emma looked absolutely beautiful and I am so proud of her.

Madi gave a talk on baptism about the 6 steps from birth to get back to Heavenly Father. How Emma needs faith and with repentance and the steps she made yesterday that she is on her way and can use those through out her whole life. Jacob then baptized Emma. It is a beautiful moment seeing all the little children gather around to watch and see Emma’s joy and the strength from the priesthood with Jacob and Vernon and Grandpa Jack as they witnessed. As we were getting ready in the bathroom she radiated a kindness and a love so bright.
My dad then gave the talk on the Holy Gost. Explaining to Emma about all of the presents she has gotten at holidays and how fun they were, but that the greatest gift she will get next will be the gift of the Holy Ghost. It went so perfect with how we had been explaining the Holy Ghost to Emma. She got gifts to remember how the Holy Ghost is our friend and her companion and guide always. She was given her scriptures. Growing up our grandparents have us our first set of real scriptures when we turned 8. My parents have started that tradition and take them out to pick out their scriptures and case for their baptism day. Emma looked forward to that so much and I love how excited she was. As a side note Noah made sure Grandma and grandpa knew that only 3 1/2 years till he gets his date.

Emma was then confirmed a member of the church. I will never doubt the strength of the priesthood and the spirit it brings when I see a group of worthy men as they gather around Emma as Jake gave her the Holy Ghost. I love and am so grateful for each of the men that stood in that circle for Emma. After she was welcome to the primary and the ward. We all went to the house and ate and watched a little video of Emma through the years. She has grown up so fast. At church she walked up to the front and got introduced. She loved showing her dress to everyone and is such a big girl with her scriptures. I can’t fully express the love for my beautiful and gracious daughter. I love you Emma and we are so proud and happy for you.
