Celebrating America at the Cabin

We headed up to cedar mountains to Jake’s grandpas cabin for the fourth. The kids were all so excited to see cousins and be in the fresh air. Jake went on his morning runs each day too. The first day he woke up as usual at 4 and went on his way. The second day he slept in and didn’t leave till 7. That night jimmy showed Jake the trail cam pictures. Jake was at 7:30 passing the cam and a mountain lion was at 4:30!!! So crazy he didn’t go at his normal time. A couple weeks earlier they kept catching a couple different bears at the same spot too. Next time he will take some type of protection.

We had a blast riding around and playing cards. I even found my new favorite card game- Nertz! We ate great food and loved chatting and being with family. It is definitely one of our favorite places to be.
It was Benjamin’s weekend! I decided last minute to let him drive the car. So Jake hopped in the back and Benjamin drove us part way to the cabin! He had a blast. My parents let us drive at papa buzz’s house so I figured it was time to start the tradition and a perfect place to do it. Emma and Noah were terrified hahaha. Navy cheered him on the whole time and was so cute. While at the cabin he also learned how to drive and operate the tractor! He was in heaven. He is getting so big and it was so fun to do watch him learn and grow!

While on a ride to the upper ranch, Reese took cash and Noah on a ride. They were going down a steep hill with a big rut and rocks on it. They hit something and flipped down. Luckily she was going so slow and so they didnt roll all the way down. Reese hurt her ribs, Cash got a big old bruise on his thigh and Noah’s face got all messed up plus hurt his arm. He ended up breaking it in a couple places and messing with his collar bone. We will find out more later and I’ll do his own post for all the details.

Even with the wreck everyone had a good time and made lots of memories. We all had our pups up there and they did amazing! It’s so fun watching them play too and they get completely worn out. Thank you grandpa for creating such a wonderful place!
